Full Name:
Background: Nitric oxide is a reactive free radical which acts as a biologic mediator in several processes, including neurotransmission and antimicrobial and antitumoral activities. Nitric oxide is synthesized from L-arginine by nitric oxide synthases. Variations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to coronary spasm. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2009]
Synonyms: NOS3 Antibody , ECNOS Antibody , ENOS Antibody
Cellular Localization:
CAS NO: 153436-54-5
Product: VTP-27999 (2,2,2-trifluoroacetate)
Host: Mouse
Clonality: Monoclonal
Isotype: IgG1
Immunogen: Synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding S1177.
Antigen Species:
Species Reactivity: Human, Mouse
Conjugation: Unconjugated
Storage Buffer: 0.01in PBS PEG, Sucrose and 50% Glycerol, 0.09% sodium azide
Storage Instruction: Keep as concentrated solution. Aliquot and store at -20ÂșC or below. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
Specificity: Endothelial NO synthase produces nitric oxide (NO) which plays a crucial role in cardiovascularhomeostasis. Activation of the enzyme and NO production can be induced by phosphorylation of eNOS atSerine 1177 by activated Akt/PKB. Specifically recognizes eNOS phosphorylated at serine 1177.MW = 140 kDa. Cross-reacts with human and mouse.
